2026 AWARD ENTRY

This award recognises outstanding projects that deliver the critical infrastructure underpinning today’s connected economy. Open to developments across data centres, telecoms networks, fibre connectivity, smart systems and digital-enabled built environments, it celebrates excellence in design, construction and delivery. Judges will be looking for projects that demonstrate innovation, resilience, scalability and sustainability, while enabling faster, smarter and more reliable digital services for communities, businesses and the wider economy.

Project Overview and Objectives. Provide an overview of the project, including its scope, scale, location and primary purpose. What digital infrastructure challenge or opportunity did it address? Outline the key objectives at the outset and how these responded to market demand, user needs or wider economic and societal priorities. *

Innovation in Design and Delivery. What makes this project innovative? Describe any new approaches, technologies, design methods or construction techniques used. This could include advancements in data centre design, network deployment, smart systems integration or digital-enabled construction. Explain how innovation improved project outcomes compared to traditional approaches. *

Resilience, Performance and Scalability. How does the project ensure long-term resilience and high performance? Detail how the infrastructure supports reliability, security, adaptability and future growth. This may include redundancy, uptime performance, capacity planning, modularity or the ability to scale in response to increasing digital demand. *

Sustainability and Environmental Impact. Explain how the project addresses sustainability. This could include energy efficiency, carbon reduction, use of renewable energy, cooling strategies, material choices or minimising environmental impact during construction and operation. Where possible, include measurable outcomes or benchmarks. *

Impact and Value Creation. What difference has the project made? Demonstrate the tangible benefits delivered to end users, communities, businesses or clients. This could include improved connectivity, enhanced user experience, economic impact, operational efficiencies or enabling new digital services. Provide evidence of success, including metrics, performance data or stakeholder feedback where available. *
