Alan Somerville is the Head of the Building Performance Group at BRE. This is the largest division of BRE delivering world class benchmarking, analytical, advisory and data services to the owners and occupiers of residential and commercial buildings across the globe. The division delivers currently in 77 countries.

A chartered surveyor by profession he has been working in real estate markets for over 25 years. He joined BRE in August 2018 from Cushman & Wakefield where he led the Energy, Infrastructure & Sustainability team for the EMEA region. Prior to that he held senior project roles for the outsourcing of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and the IPO of a coal mining company. For 12 years he was a Projects Director with Grosvenor, the property investment vehicle of the Duke of Westminster.

He has worked on many significant projects including Canary Wharf and is focussed on the commercial outcome.
